Oral History

The main task for the SEE ME project at the moment is to collect the stories of the African-Caribbean community and other Black people who migrated to or were born in Britain during the twentieth century. This generation is ageing and it is important that their stories are recorded before they are lost. But we are also keen to collect stories from all our diverse Black and Minority Ethnic communities.

The stories will be digitally recorded and transcribed. They will be available to the public, subject to story teller's permission, at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, where they will also be archived for future generations. See

Keep returning to this page as we start to highlight some of the people we have interviewed and their life stories, you will soon beable to hear clips and images of everyone involved.
